One of the reasons injectables like Botox and Restylane are so popular is because you can see noticeable results after a treatment session. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give your skin a break.
After the treatment you may notice some redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness and/or itching near the injection site, this is normal and will generally subside within a few hours to a few days.
Each injection creates a microscopic hole in the skin’s surface, making it vulnerable and sensitive so it’s important to avoid any possible irritants like make-up or skincare products (other than the ones recommended by Dr. Vera). To minimize the risk of any infections and maximize results we recommend skipping the makeup and other products on your skin for up to 12 to 24 hours.
We suggest planning ahead, if you have an important meeting or event, make sure to give yourself and your skin a brief downtime after your treatment. The areas where the skin has been treated need time to heal and recover to minimize your risk of infection and let your skin settle completely.
